The time I saw Pitch Perfect 2 and laughed really really hard at it… That was going to be the title of this post but it’s too long apparently. Shesh, way to wreck all my fun. Anyway, the fact still remains. I went and saw a preview screening of the movie with two of my cousin’s and their Mum. Movie night! Yes.
And what did I think about it?
Well I loved it.
So, was Pitch Perfect 2 funny? Yes. Umm for sure yes. It was laugh out loud funny, most of my group said it was even funnier than the first. There was more one liners, it was fast and furious and lots of fun. More awkward too. The commentators are back and he’s as bad as ever. But that’s the point right? You’ve been warned.
The music? Well we didn’t think that the musical numbers were quite as WOW as they were last time. The laughs were definitely bigger than the music for us. Maybe we were alone in that. But even the Trebels performance was a little cringey. I don’t know. Maybe it won’t be next time I see it, but I remember thinking, errr what?
The plot was good, the new faces and old were great. I just enjoyed it and so did the people who packed the cinema with us to see it. There’s something really cool about a whole cinema laughing together. It’s one of those movies the whole family can see. Sure some consideration needs to be given to the college level humour, but I saw kids of all ages at this preview and no one looked upset when they left. So fun. You’re going to love it.
