Recently I was lucky enough to visit Harry Potter Land (Japan). If you are lucky enough to be planning a visit, you’re going to want to check out the five things I loved most when I visited Harry Potter Land.
Butterbeer is the most amazing thing I have ever tasted in my life. Big call, I know, but I’m standing by it. My only piece of advice is the chilled one is way better than the heated one. I found the hot version way too sweet. Oh, and do yourself a favour and spend the extra $4 Aussie dollars and get the beer mug to keep, you’ll be set for life! Can’t argue with that.
You can’t say you have been to Harry Potter Land without grabbing a Chocolate Frog. It’s an essential! While you’re there, get amongst the other sweets and treats at Honeydukes! My only mistake is I realised after we left that there are four cards to be collected from each house inside each frog. And bloody hell, I only bought two.
If you’re going to be a wizard go all out and buy a wand, or three like I did… There is an assortment of wands to choose from which are based on the characters wands from the series. Ollivander’s itself was spectacular to see, and I love the process of going through and choosing a wand.
As we know, you need magic to be a wizard so if you buy one of the new electronic wands that come with a map of Harry Potter Land you can start your journey as a wizard using your new wand to cast spells and do things throughout the park.
This is pretty self-explanatory, who doesn’t want to know which house they are meant for? I don’t know about you, but I’ve always had my favourite house. It’s a Harry Potter fan thing to do. But will the Sorting Hat agree with your choice? If the story is anything to go by, it will take it into consideration, I’m sure.
If you’re a true Harry Potter fan (I’m sure you are!) then you won’t be able to go past the iconic blue Ford Anglia. This is the car that Harry and Ron flew and crashed into the Whomping Willow. I don’t know about you, but that car is like a character in the book for me. So, as you enter the park make sure you take a snapshot or ten.
So, there you go! My favourite things to do and see (and taste!) at Harry Potter Land. And let me tell you, one fan to another, you’re going to want to visit at some point in your life. When you do, make sure you have a butterbeer for me.
Murray hit the ground running straight out of home. You’ll find him at home with his wife Jess or on the phone for his career in residential property marketing. He loves Costco cheese pizza and the finer things in life (the two are not related).
